Week 5
Machinima Documentary
I chose to explore the Expository and Observational modes of video documentation. The Pachube feed I chose to incorporate into the concept of my installation is a sound sensor installed in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia that measures the noise level in decibels in YS-Home .
In the recent terrorist events that occurred in around the world in regards to the power, extremist and religion I wanted to convey to the high coverage of human rebellious acts, terrorism and power of speech on the human mind. The expository mode of documentation points out a two paths towards parties representing we accept or rebel against the information received from external source with verbal commentary aid, however which this video I feel doesn't provide the "external source", more
Communication is one of the most important ways to gain, learn information. In my video this only focus on the way we decide getting information from an external source. Human are intelligent beings, we seek out facts, truths, ways to improve our lives and wanting to belong to a group or society. However there is a down turn to intelligibility, everyone have different ways to express their opinions and ideas making them individual, its the receiving party who acts upon it with either with open arms or hostility. With advancing technology aiding communication, information can be accessed publicly and quickly via computer, internet, mobile phones, books, millions of terabits of information is uploaded, downloaded into the severs very second is passed. When technology fails, humanity suffers. Our modern world is surrounded by innovations that are ultimately a double-edged sword. It is a long, hard and convoluted road to creation, but when it fails, it does so spectacularly.
